Last week, students from 8th grade to 2nd year of baccalaureate brought literature to life in a vibrant showcase of artistic interpretations of the novels studied in class.

8th graders transformed Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde into an immersive theatrical tour with costumes, music, games, and themed treats. 9th-grade students tackled A Puzzle for Logan through a self-produced movie trailer, handing out tickets and popcorn for a true cinema experience.

10th graders performed key scenes from The Pearl by John Steinbeck, demonstrating strong spoken English and creative visual projects like bookmarks and book covers. Students in the 1st year presented Journey to the Centre of the Earth with an original vehicle model, role-plays, journey map, and artwork that reflected the novel’s adventurous spirit.

The event concluded with a powerful exhibit on MAUS by 2nd Bacc students, who recreated the atmosphere of a Nazi concentration camp and shared personal interpretations and reflections on the graphic novel’s emotional depth.

This cross-grade project reminded us of all of literature’s power to inspire imagination, empathy, and thoughtful dialogue.

Congratulations to the English teachers who led this project for motivating in their students a love for reading.
