Juan Fernando Puente, our Second Baccalaureate student at our school, earned 2nd place in the XXII Inter-school Contest organized by Shakespeare School, titled «In Pursuit of the Bard Contest.»
This challenging competition invites participants to showcase their mastery of the English language through the interpretation and performance of a vivid, adapted soliloquy from one of Shakespeare’s timeless characters.
Guided by his teacher, Luis Felipe Pazmiño, Juan Fernando chose to portray Hamlet, drawing a powerful contrast between the character’s emotions and dilemmas in the original play and those faced by individuals in today’s society. Through this thoughtful adaptation, he connected Shakespeare’s themes to the modern issue of cyberbullying, offering a unique perspective by weaving in the voices of both Hamlet and the antagonist, Claudius.
His compelling stage presence and emotional performance deeply moved the audience, who resonated with the relevance and intensity of the message.

Juan Fernando Puente, nuestro estudiante de Segundo de Bachillerato, obtuvo el segundo lugar en la XXII edición del Concurso Intercolegial organizado por Shakespeare School, titulado «In Pursuit of the Bard Contest.»
Este exigente certamen invita a los participantes a demostrar su dominio del idioma inglés a través de la interpretación y puesta en escena de un soliloquio adaptado y vívido de uno de los personajes inmortales de Shakespeare.
Con la guía de su profesor, Luis Felipe Pazmiño, Juan Fernando eligió representar a Hamlet, estableciendo un poderoso contraste entre las emociones y dilemas del personaje en la obra original y los que enfrentan las personas en la sociedad actual. A través de esta adaptación reflexiva, logró vincular los temas de Shakespeare con la problemática contemporánea del ciberacoso, ofreciendo una perspectiva única al incorporar las voces tanto de Hamlet como del antagonista, Claudio.
Su impactante presencia escénica y emotiva actuación conmovieron profundamente al público, que se sintió identificado con la relevancia y fuerza del mensaje.
