“TikTok videos- Literary Analysis of the novel: Ties that Bind, Ties that Break”

Los estudiantes de Segundo de Bachillerato, frente al COVID-19, tuvieron la maravillosa oportunidad de usar distintas y nuevas herramientas tecnológicas para sus proyectos. Es así como pudieron crear divertidos videos, utilizando la aplicación TikTok, para crear pequeños análisis literarios de la novela: Ties that Bind, Ties that Break.

En esta recopilación de 4 cápsulas de 15 segundos, los estudiantes pudieron presentar el tipo de conflicto presentado a través de la trama de la novela, su personaje preferido y el tipo de personaje que es, los recursos literarios usados por la autora Lensey Namioka y finalmente el tema presentado en la novela.

Fue una experiencia enriquecedora para los estudiantes y para su maestra, y a la vez divertida. Los estudiantes pudieron incorporar el uso de TICs en su proyecto final y demostrar su comprensión de la novela asignada.

The students of Second Baccalaureate, facing the COVID-19, emergency had the wonderful opportunity to use different and new technological tools for their projects. They were able to create fun videos using the TikTok application to create short literary analyzes of the novel: Ties that Bind, Ties that Break.

In this compilation of 4 capsules of 15-seconds each one, students were able to present the type of conflict presented through the plot of the novel, their preferred character and the type of character he/she was, the literary devices used by the author Lensey Namioka, and finally the theme presented in the novel.

It was an enriching experience for the students and for their teacher and at the same time very fun. Students were able to incorporate the use of ICTs in their final project and demonstrate their understanding of the assigned novel.
